One of the services I hope to offer alongside our book is helping others write eulogies using the beautiful power of poetry. I’ve read that, on average, people spend between 2 to 10 hours preparing a eulogy. This time is spent reflecting on memories and stories, writing and revising the text, and practicing the delivery. Some individuals take even longer, sometimes up to 15 or 20 hours.
This got me thinking: what if there was a service that leveraged poetry to create powerful, lasting eulogies? Many people want to write their own eulogies while they are still alive, as a way to shape their legacy and share their story with loved ones. Imagine a company that helps craft those life stories or eulogies in poetic form—turning memories into art that honors the individual in a unique and meaningful way.
Would this be something people might pay for? I believe it could be both a practical support for those overwhelmed by the process and a deeply healing experience for families and individuals alike. Poetry offers a way to express emotion and presence that prose often cannot match, and a poetic eulogy could serve as a timeless tribute.
I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on how this kind of service could work and how it might help those in need during difficult times. Please use our contact form (in the Speaking page) to let us know what you think.
Eulogies in Verse
When words feel fragile, worn, and thin,
And silence weighs too much within,
A poem comes, both soft and clear,
To hold the grief, to draw us near.
It weaves the story, breath by breath,
Not rushed by time, nor scared of death.
In measured lines, with quiet grace,
It finds the heart, a sacred place.
Eulogies may stumble, start—
But poetry speaks from the heart.
A gentle voice, a tender song,
That helps us say what’s lived so long.
